Oprah asks Kim Kardashian if marriage was a 'publicity stunt'?

Oprah Winfrey is promoting her upcoming interview with Kim Kardashian and the Kardashian clan, promising to ask tough questions. Can she redeem herself after her disastrous interview with Bobbi Kristina Brown?

Oprah was once known as the queen of tough love when it was her syndicated TV show. Her interview with Whitney Houston in 2009, raw, candid and exciting.

Oprah managed to get the information that no other interviewer can come close since, but since she left TV for its cable network, it has been inconsistent and sometimes even a little crazy. But not this time.

"I really wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon, why so many people love to watch their every move, and why so many others love to hate them," Winfrey wrote on her page on Facebook.

"They are completely ego-center? Are they really "famous for being famous." Or is there something else? I got it ... + Answers to these questions anymore, "she says.

"Those who watch the show know that they do not hold back. This interview, I would say there was another level of candor and honesty," she said.

Well, if Oprah really knew what she says, she knows that the show was more closely the script and made it seems. Not a good sign.

"What surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe", it goes to one. "Kim ... Everyone who was asked for the marriage a publicity stunt, why she left after 72 days? Her response to me is leveled," Oprah said.

Oprah admits being a neophyte when it comes to the Kardashians. She never watched the show and said he did not know who they are. But she says that she watches all the cramming Kardashian.

Bobby Brown arrested on suspicion of DUI

Bobby Brown was arrested in the San Fernando Valley singer on suspicion of driving under the influence, law enforcement officials said.

The arrest occurred at 12:20 pm on Monday at the near corner of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Harris. The staff pulled him over for talking on his mobile phone, and then administered sobriety test, said Harris.

The arrest comes four days after the office of the Los Angeles coroner released the results of his autopsy Brown's ex-wife, Whitney Houston.

Houston seems to have used cocaine "in the period just before its collapse in the bathroom at the hotel," said Los Angeles County Chief Coroner Craig Harvey. Houston, 48, has been determined that the accident was drowned after the February 11 episode of apparent heart with cocaine as a factor.

Officials did not say how many drugs were in her system. But Harvey, chief investigator of the operations department, said the results of toxicology, "suggested the chronic use of" drug.

14-year marriage Brown and Houston's drug abuse has been tarnished, Brown clashes with the law, and allegations of domestic violence. He became fodder for tabloids and entertainment shows throughout the year, and were exhibited in the reality show "Being Bobby Brown."

DWTS: Donald Driver's national debut

If stadium news doesn't get your blood pumping, then perhaps ballroom dancing will float your boat on this fine Monday afternoon.

After years of begging, the NFC North finally has representation on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." We in the business call it "DWTS" for short. You will soon, because Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver is one of 12 celebrities paired with a dancing professional to compete in an elimination-style competition.

(For now, we'll skip over the possibility that Driver, 37, will not be a part of the Packers' roster in 2012. He's ours for now.)

Season 14 debuts Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on, yes, ABC. Tuesday night brings us the first results show of the season, from what I understand.

A total of 10 current or former NFL players have participated in DWTS, and Driver will be the fifth wide receiver after Jerry Rice, Hines Ward, Michael Irvin and Chad Ochocinco. He is paired with Peta Murgatroyd, a native of New Zealand whose previous celebrity dance credits include Ron Artest before he re-named himself Metta World Peace.

I haven't decided whether we'll actually do a Driver Watch, or perhaps a DWTS Watch, as this exciting drama unfolds. I do think it will be fun to see how Driver's personality plays on a national level, and we've seen enough fancy footwork from him to think he has a reasonable chance to, uh, dance well over the next few weeks. (Sorry, I don't know how the kids these days describe good dancing. "Getting down?" "Gettin' jiggy with it?" "Busting a move?" I'm a big "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" guy, but otherwise, I have no idea.)

For now, at least, consider this a public service announcement as you look for ways to fill your Monday (and Tuesday) nights until Monday Night Football returns in just a few short months.

George Clooney Arrested

George Clooney and his father were arrested today during a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy, and the actor says he has asked President Barack Obama with China to end the humanitarian crisis in North Africa.

The protesters accuse Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir of provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking supplies and assistance from the entrance to the Nuba Mountains in the border areas of the county with the Southern Sudan.

Clooney and his father, Nick Clooney, and others were arrested after being warned three times not to cross the line of police outside the embassy. Those arrested included NAACP President Ben Jealous, Martin Luther King III, as well as an actor and comedian Dick Gregory.

Several members of Congress were arrested, including members of the House of Representatives of Massachusetts, James McGovern and John Olver, Congressman Al Green of Texas and Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia. They were handcuffed and placed in a U.S. Secret Service van.

Clooney told the Associated Press, before he was arrested, he could only hope to draw attention to the crisis in Sudan, but he does not know if progress has been made. He said he was impressed, though, with the involvement of Obama on this issue.

"It's amazing to sit down with a world leader who knows all the nuances of what is happening in Sudan," he said.

The actor said that he asked Obama to bring China back in promotion decisions in the Sudan. He said world leaders should "follow the money" flowing into Sudan's leaders to expose corruption.

"This is a time when we have a chance to do something, because if we do not, in the next three to four months, it will be a real humanitarian catastrophe," said Clooney before his arrest.

"It's such a silly idea I think that you are actually successful in any of this," he said. "But if it's loud enough, and you continue to do it loud enough, at least people will know about it, and you can not say we did not know. This is the first step."

Micron CEO dies in plane crash

Micron CEO dies in plane crash
51-year-old Appleton, for three decades, the industry veteran who performed stunts in the air show, has died after a small plane that he piloted crashed at the airport in Boise, Idaho, where the chips with headquarters.

His death shook the close-knit semiconductor industry. Appleton was a prominent figure in Boise, the city of 200,000 in the western United States, as well as a member of the Idaho Business Council.

President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Durcan, who was to retire in August, will take the responsibility of the CEO to the board of directors may appoint a permanent successor. Directors will meet at the weekend, Micron said in a statement.

Shares of Micron, stopped before the announcement, resumed trading after the regular market close and quickly slid 6 percent.

"Steve was a great energy, never give up the type of inspiration. Entire industry will miss the energy of Steve," said an analyst at Stifel Nicolaus Kevin Cassidy. "However, Micron has a deep bench of managers who share the vision of Steve."

The accident occurred while the pilot flew Appleton Lancair single engine aircraft, airport spokeswoman Patti Miller, Boise told Reuters. Lancair sells kits to build high-end aircraft.

After take-off and reach a height of about 200 feet, Appleton radio that he had problems and needed to turn around, Boise police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower told reporters.

The aircraft rolled left, then fell to the ground where he fell, leading to a high heat and leave the twisted, black debris.

Appleton, a native of California, joined Micron to work the night shift immediately after the University of Idaho in 1983. His subsequent meteoric rise led to his becoming the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company, at age 34 in 1994.

He resigned in 1996 amid rumors of power struggles meeting room, only to return nine days after the council asked him to reconsider his decision.

Appleton, a well-known sports enthusiast, who also scuba, dive, surf, and raced off-road vehicles and motorcycles, has received the prestigious Robert Noyce - the highest award of the industry - from the Semiconductor Industry Association in 2011.

The award, named in honor of the founders of Intel Corp, Robert Noyce is granted to those who have contributed greatly to the production of microchips.

Headquarters staff a vast Micron and plant, where several flags flew at half mast, were obviously upset, while others adhered to the procedure.

"I was at the meeting, which was normal, but in the end, when she broke up was nothing but a sad talk about Steve." said Officer Mike Peterson. "I know he loved airplanes, so if it will go, I think it was a setup."

Officer Melanie Wood said: "Someone told me at my cabin, and then I read the letter, and we do not believe that at first he was so young, you do not expect something like this.".

Heavy losses:

"Steve was a visionary and a true leader in our industry. He will be sorely missed by the entire community of semiconductors and our prayers and thoughts are with his family," Brian Toohey, president of the Semiconductor Industry Association, said in a statement.

Micron makes memory chips used in personal computers, smart phones and tablets and compete with Asian competitors Hynix Semiconductor Inc, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and Toshiba Corp.

Manufacturers of memory chips are struggling as falling prices and a huge investment to remain competitive saddle them huge losses. Micron is the last remaining U.S. producer of memory chips.

Boise Mayor Dave Bieter said Appleton was sensitive, as job cuts at Micron in recent years, the effect on the community.

"He called me and told me to come up with layoffs and explained how the business end of the chip technology and Micron will develop a strong will on the other end. And it happened exactly as he said he would," said Bieter told reporters.

The company announced last week that Durcan will retire in August, but the death of Appleton raised questions about whether he can stay.

Seen as a more-keeled Micron top technologist, Durcan took the major role of the chips every day for the past few years, and larger than life Appleton focused more on strategy.

The loss of the conclusion of transactions Micron could waylay the possible acquisition of troubled Japanese rival Elpida Memory. Saddled with millions of dollars of operating losses and major upcoming debt payments, Elpida may be in talks to be bought by Micron or reach some kind of partnership, the media in recent assumptions.

Risky lifestyles:

Appleton's death raises questions about what some of the leaders' brave life is too risky for shareholders.

British tycoon Richard Branson is trying to circle the world in a balloon in 1985 were rescued after the capsizing boat. Oracle founder Larry Ellison, sailing races, as well as flying aircraft.

Micron recent regulations make no mention of a "key person" life insurance policy on the Appleton, and they are not particularly noted directors and officers' insurance that will cover it.

One of the leaders in the national insurance broker said it is possible to obtain directors and officers insurance for the person as CEO, who flew their planes, but added that the death of Appleton could still cause headaches for legal advice.

"D & O is really about, in essence, a public company, whether the company is subject to court shareholders," said the broker, on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

The broker said the board would be required to Micron have a backup plan, especially given the risky behaviors Appleton, and that the degree to which the company may face legal issues depends a lot on what makes the Micron shares on Monday.

"If trade is opened much lower, it may be that the plaintiffs' lawyer, two or three will conduct an investigation," says the broker.

Trading in shares Micron was stopped Friday morning in anticipation of a statement. Shares fell $ 7.48 in extended trade from last quote $ 7.95 on the Nasdaq, before it stopped.

It was a huge export from America to the world that have shown African-American life and the joy of music and dance, and it brought people together.

He said that the show was originally modeled on Dick Clark's "American Variety," but with a focus on black music, fashion and dance. "There was no program that targets a specific ethnic group," he told Associated Press in 2006. "I'm trying to use euphemisms here, trying not to say there was no television for black people, they knew it was for them."

The formula for the show has not changed over the years, though, and sets have been updated and transformed music from Motown to funk and rap in the end. As the host each week, Mr. Cornelius, the high and mighty, will play the latest songs and pen a few artists to be interviewed. They will do a song or two, sometimes live, sometimes lip-synching. He signed with each show by intoning "Love, peace and soul."

Mr. Cornelius has retired as host in 1993, handing the reins of a series of actors, comedians and other hosts guest. "I took myself, because I just felt that 22 years was enough, and that the audience is changing, and I was not," he said.

A year later he was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor spousal battery charges in a deal. During the divorce proceedings in the same year, he mentioned that "significant health problems," but did not elaborate.

Michael Jackson death still unsolved after autopsy

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Doctors completed an autopsy on the body of Michael Jackson on Friday but said they could not immediately establish a cause of death for the "King of Pop" as speculation centered on his use of prescription painkillers.
"The cause of death has been deferred, which means that the medical examiner has ordered additional testing such as toxicology and other studies," Los Angeles County Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey said.
"Those tests we anticipate will take an additional four to six weeks."
Speaking to a throng of reporters outside the coroner's office, Harvey said, "There was no indication of any external trauma or indication of foul play to the body of Mr. Jackson."
He said his office expected to determine what killed Jackson, 50, when the tests were complete.
The body would be released to family members after they chose a mortuary to handle the funeral arrangements, Harvey added.
Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing an interview with an unidentified "close member" of the Jackson family, reported the superstar singer was injected with Demerol about half an hour before he went into cardiac arrest.
'HE'S NOT RESPONDING'
Police searched Jackson's rented mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles and planned to interview his personal physician, who was with the entertainer at the time of his death.
TMZ, citing family members, said Jackson received a daily injection of Demerol, a narcotic painkiller. The family believes his death was caused by an overdose of the drug, TMZ reported.
An unidentified man called a 911 emergency phone line from the mansion at 12:21 p.m. local time, saying Jackson was unconscious and not breathing.
In excerpts from the call played on television, the man said the doctor was the only other person present and was performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the unconscious Jackson without results.
"He's pumping, he's pumping his chest but he's not responding to anything, sir, please," the caller said.
A senior law enforcement official told ABC News that Jackson was "heavily addicted" to the painkiller Oxycontin and was injected daily with that medication, along with Demerol.
