Jennifer Nettles, the 35 year old singer performed on Bruce Springsteen’s melodies in front of the first couple on Sunday 6th December at the Kennedy Center Honors 2009. It was her tribute to one of the honorees of the award, Bruce Springsteen.

Jennifer performed on a number of Bruce’s compositions which included “My Father’s House”, “Glory Days” and “I’m On Fire” that showed the versatility of Springsteen’s melodies.

The American Grammy-winning country music artist became the latest to perform in front of the US President after Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss and Charley Pride who all had performed at the White House earlier this year.

The Kennedy Center Honors of this year are awarded to the jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, veteran actor Robert De Niro, producer Mel Brooks, opera singer Grace Bumbry and ofcourse singerBruce Springsteen.

The other artists to perform at the event were Jack Black, Matthew Broderick, Harry Connick, Jr., Melissa Etheridge, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Ben Harper, Harvey Keitel, Frank Langella, John Mellencamp, Edward Norton, Carl Reiner, Martin Scorsese, Martin Short, Jon Stewart, Ben Stiller, Sting, Sharon Stone, Meryl Streep, and Eddie Vedder.
