Kelly Gray St John:

Kelly Gray and St. John go long way back. Kelly Gray, who modelled for St. John for over two decades, is in the news due to a statement by St. John CEO Glenn McMahon.

Recently the world famous brand St. John’s CEO Glenn McMahon released a statement in which he said that, the world famous clothing line wants to steer away from blondes.

The first thing that comes into my mind was Angelina Jolie, but then I thought for a while and another name popped into my mind “Gisele Bundchen”, she was the face of St. John before they hired Angie. Gisele Bundchen was also blond, but this thing goes way back….the original face of clothing line “Kelly Gray” an extremely blonde model.

Many of you may not know who I am talking about or who “Kelly Gray” was.

To inform those who do not know who Kelly Gray is. Kelly Gray is the 41-year-old daughter of St. John founders Marie and Robert Gray.

The brand was created by duo Marie and Robert Gray in 1962, long before the birth of their daughter Kelly Gray.

Although the statement Glenn McMahon released say, they are replacing Angelina Jolie with the red headed 30-year-old model Karen Elson because Angie’s presence overshadowed their brand, but the second line of the statement irritates me and that is “they want to steer away from blonds”.

He went on to say “The clothing line needs to show a modern point of view, that St. John have evolved.”

Kelly Gray was the face of St. Jon for 20 years, she left the brand in 2005 and started her own men’s clothing line with Nikki Sixx in 2006.
