Jeff Lewis Brown Design

This week on Flipping Out, Jeff Lewis of Jeff Lewis Design (JeffLewisDesign.com) confronts Ryan Brown (Brown Design) over Ryan’s entry into online website promotion. The Jeff vs. Ryan storyline has built over the last few weeks. There was Jeff seeking advice from his dad (who proclaims “you two have made millions together”) to Jeff doing the Mercedes Benz SUV interrogation of Ryan (with Ryan saying he will go to acting school to fake a better apology for Jeff). Irregular shaped glass stems will never be the same as Lewis’ boiling point hits the max setting over what Ryan has and hasn’t told him in the last few weeks. Despite that Brown was Lewis’ former significant other and his business partner, the chips are all on the table this week. LALATE continues to call Flipping Out one of the best show on TV today. Compare this show up against other Bravo entry, Flipping Out is shot the best - from lighting to pacing - and is executed wonderfully. LALATE has been a huge fan of the show because it’s simply great programming - it’s fun and completely unpredictable. It understands the nature of entertainment, starting an episode with Lewis examining if two pieces of glassware are different or not, only to turn glassware obsession into an entire scene of controlling madness. But what did Ryan do or not do? Find out this week on Flipping Out - make sure to get your Polo Loco salsa ready! Here is what Ryan’s company Brown Design describes itself as: These two native Californians [Ryan and Joshua Brown] have lived within the world of architecture and design their entire lives. They grew up along the beach just north of Malibu where their parents founded their own residential development firm. “Our parents instilled in us a respect for our environment, the belief that there is beauty all around us.” Ryan and Joshua apply these same values to their work. This allows them to blend a variety of elements in a simple and natural way. “We believe in juxtaposing a mixture of modern and primitive components against simple clean lines. Our best work comes when we are able to combine the client’s personal needs and style with our own instincts.” “Traveling is one of the most important ways we find inspiration.” The influence of these excursions can be seen in their work. The expertise of the Brown brothers is not limited to interiors. Brown Development engages in full-scale residential development as well as the restoration and refurbishing of homes in the Los Angeles area. Ryan and Joshua have dedicated themselves to creating spaces that reflect the people who inhabit them - sanctuaries where they can feel at peace. At the same time, they use architecture and design elements to create an energy that rejuvenates and inspires. “Our clients strive to live well which allows us to create spaces that make them feel at home”
