2 Months 2 Million Episode 6

For the cast of the G4 online poker reality show “2 Months, $2 Million,” last night marked boot camp. The franchise, which now airs at 8:00pm ET on Wednesdays, began with Emil Patel refusing to ride dune buggies in the Nevada desert. Housemate Brian Roberts noted, “It’s logical, but he was still being a little bitch.” Roberts promptly tried to spray sand on Patel with his dune buggy, but became stuck. Last week, the quartet dropped $128,000, leaving the team up just $35,100 after five weeks on its quest to make $2 million in two months. Jay Rozenkrantz has been coaching poker and thought that teaching others the game could help right the ship. The “boot campers” consisted of recent high school graduate Harry “UgotaBanana” Kaczka, Dave “NLsoldier” Schnettler, Russian-born Wladimir “insyder19” Taschner, and U.K. native Ben “pokiethepanda” Middleton. Kaczka nearly didn’t make the trip, having lost $100,000 one day prior to arriving. Roberts explained, “Henry came to boot camp downswinging. His confidence was kind of at a low.” As an example of his poor luck, Kaczka pushed his chips in after turning the nuts, only to have the board pair on the river and lose to a full house. The crew headed to Naked Fish’s before waking up the next day to analyze mistakes from past hands. Rosenkrantz then told “2 Months, $2 Million” cameras, “We’re going to play side by side and show them what it takes to beat anybody.” Meanwhile, Middleton headed for the Tilt Room to smash an unsuspected pile of watermelons with a baseball bat. Middleton explained what went through his head when he took to the padded room, which appears to be in the house’s garage: “I was thinking about this one fish I played before.” The fish in question took $50,000 off Middleton. In celebration of the day’s hard work, the “2 Months, $2 Million” cast treated their protégés to a night on the town. However, a party bus was needed since Kaczka is just 18 years of age. With Kaczka parked inside the bus (pun intended), the rest of the crew headed to Blush at the Wynn for bottle service. Two girls eventually found their way to the party bus, while Middleton turned up the charm inside Blush. Patel noted, “Ben was shy at first, but he gained some confidence as the night moved on.” Now 18, Kaczka faced a dilemma of whether to enroll in college or pursue a full-time career in poker. PocketFives.com member Dani ansky451 Stern (pictured at left) issued the following words of advice about poker: “The bad you feel from losing is far worse than the good you get from winning. Losing $100,000 hurts a lot more than winning $100,000 feels good.” In the boot camp’s final exam, each “2 Months, $2 Million” cast member was paired with a student for single elimination heads-up matches. The losing team would be tasked with this week’s penalty stunt, which is normally given to the player with the worst performance financially. In the end, Rosenkrantz and Middleton were forced to dress up as conjoined twins and do the hula-hoop on the Las Vegas Strip for tips. They came armed with a sign that read, “Donate 2 Separate. Conjoined twins need funds for detachment surgery.” Stern used the melee to score several phone numbers, as has become typical. For the week, Stern was up $19,000, Roberts pocketed $25,000, Patel gained $10,400, and Rosenkrantz banked $21,600. In addition, each of the four earned $7,500 from the boot camp, leading to an overall profit of $106,000. Week 6’s tally nearly erased last week’s loss, leading to a rejuvenated spirit among the four housemates in Las Vegas. After six weeks, the team is up $141,100. Next week, Andrew luckychewy Lichtenberger (pictured at right) returns to the show after appearing three weeks ago in the “house wars” episode. “2 Months, $2 Million” airs every Wednesday at 8:00pm ET on G4. It replays throughout the week, so check your local listings for more information.
