Megachurch Pastor Creflo Dollar Arrested

Megachurch pastor and televangelist Creflo Dollar was arrested early Friday after authorities say he was a little injured his 15-year-old daughter in a fight at his home metro Atlanta.

Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call of domestic violence in the home in unincorporated Fayette County about 1 am, Investigator Brent Rowan said. 50-year-old pastor and his daughter argued about whether she could go to a party, when the dollar "got physical" with her, leaving her with a "superficial damage" Rowan said.

The dollar is a misdemeanor charge of simple battery and cruelty to children. It is linked from the Fayette County Prison on Friday morning. Lawyer dollar Nikki Bonner said that he collects information on the case and declined to comment.

Dollar is the pastor of World Changers Church International in College Park, which serves about 30,000 members, according to the Web site of the church. World Changers Church in New York, home to more than 6,000 worshipers each week, the site says. There are also four satellite churches in Georgia and others in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Washington, Cleveland, Dallas and Houston.

He and his wife, Taffi, co-pastor at the church, have five children, according to the website.

Known for his pinstriped suits and charismatic sermons, the dollar was among a group of high-profile ministers whom Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley urged in 2007 to answer questions about their spending, the supervisory board and participation in commercial enterprises.

Dollar resists, comparing requests to Grassley in church administration from the interrogation of the parishioners for their prayers and confessions. The investigation wrapped up in January 2011 with no penalties for pastors who refused to cooperate and no final conclusions of the offense.
