Cornell Basketball:

The Cornell women's basketball team closed out its non-conference schedule Wednesday with its fifth straight loss, falling 69-55 to Bucknell.

Allie Fedorowicz led the Big Red with 15 points, while Allie Munson matched a season high with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Laura Benson contributed seven rebounds and seven assists for Cornell 5-8.

Cosima Higham had 21 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots for Bucknell (4-9).

Cornell jumped out to an early 7-5 lead thanks to a pair of jumpers by Fedorowicz and Munson, bracketed around a 3-pointer by Virginia McMunigal. But the Bison stormed back with six unanswered points to take an 11-7 advantage.

The Big Red got within a point twice in the final nine minutes of the first half, but went into halftime trailing 30-25.

The Bison extended the lead to 11 early in the second half, but five straight points by Munson cut Cornell's deficit to five points.

Shortly after, Bucknell pushed its lead back up to 11 and made six straight free throws to take a 61-48 lead with just under two minutes to play.

Cornell is off until Jan. 16 when it opens Ivy League play by hosting Columbia.
