Fifty-six people make up the first group of DUI suspects to be featured on the Honolulu Police Department's web site.

Police launched the pilot project Wednesday. The web page is called "Oahu's Impaired Drivers," and displays the names and mug shots of people who are charged with, but not yet convicted of, driving under the influence.

Some of the suspects smiled for their mug photos, while others appeared to have difficulty keeping their eyes open.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving says there's no hard evidence that this type of effort serves as a deterrent.

Police will post a new group of suspects each Wednesday for a period of 24 hours.
