Darius Rucker

Darius Rucker:
Country music princess Taylor Swift became the music genre's queen tonight, winning Country Music Association's entertainer of the year award, the first woman to do so since 1999. The Berks County, Pa., native is the youngest artist ever to win the award.

Swift also won the association awards for album of the year with "Fearless" and video of the year with "Love Story."
The tearful 19-year-old cried as she accepted her trophy and said: “I will never forget this moment.”
The last woman to win entertainer of the year, and perhaps the last country singer to enjoy Swift-like crossover success, was Shania Twain.

Darius Rucker, perhaps best known as frontman for Hootie and the Blowfish, became the first black singer to win CMA's new artist of the year award. He joins Charlie Pride as one of the only African-Americans to win a major association award.
“First of all, to the fans, thank y’all for accepting me,” Rucker said. “And I think most importantly, to country radio, you took a chance on a pop singer from Charleston, S.C. Thank you so much for that!”
Here's a complete list of winner's from tonight's ceremony, hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
