"A Nightmare on Elm Street" is one of those truly terrifying classic horror movies. There are levels of camp and comedy in lots of those '80s scare flicks, including anything from later in the "Elm Street" series, but that first one is pure terror. I'm still not convinced that a remake is necessary, but today's new trailer makes that a difficult stance to maintain. If what you see in the video after the jump is familiar, there's a reason for that. A lot of those scenes are lifted from the original film, or at least heavily inspired by them. You also get your first somewhat clear look at Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy Krueger, and he's looking a bit different from the Robert Englund original.
