Police Find Body of Missing Model Jasmine Fiore

Jasmine Fiore was last seen about 8:30 p.m. Friday at her home in the 800 block of Edinburgh Avenue, near Melrose Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and her mother, Lisa Lepore. She did not had any contact with her family since then, police said.

Police confirmed today that the body found around 7 a.m. Saturday inside a Dumpster in the 7400 block of Franklin Street in Buena Park is Fiore. The body was found by a man rifling through the trash for recyclable bottles and cans.

Los Angeles police Detective Carmine Sasso said investigators looking into Fiore's disappearance realized Monday night the description of the Buena Park body was similar to Fiore. Los Angeles police then contacted Buena Park police, who were still struggling to identify the body.

"They were like a ship stuck on a sandbar," Sasso said. "We were the wave that lifted it."

Fiore's cause of death was not immediately released. She was from the Las Vegas area and had recently moved to Los Angeles, police said.

Lepore told City News Service earlier that her daughter was well known in some circles because she appeared as a model in advertising for radio personality Howard Stern and Las Vegas hotels.

Lepore also said her daughter has worked for Playboy as a representative and coordinator for "Girls of Golf."

"She's not a pinup girl, but she has worked for them," Lepore said.

Fiore was in Los Angeles to start a personal training business, Lepore said, adding that her daughter recently changed her last name to Kinkaid.

There was no immediate word on whether investigators had found Fiore's car, a white 2007 Mercedes CL S550. Police have named a person of interest in the case. His name is Ryan Alexander Jenkins of Alberta, Canada. Jenkins is 32 years-old and is the man who reported her missing to LAPD on Saturday night. Reportedly Jenkins and Fiore went to a poker party together on Friday night. He is believed to be driving either a Mercedes or a BMW. The license plate number of the BMW is HLY275 and they are Canada plates.
