Le Jules Verne Restaurant In Paris

Le Jules Verne is a one-star Michelin restaurant that is located on the second level of the most famous monument in France, the Eiffel Tower and as you can no doubt imagine, the views from this restaurant are spectacular. Originally the Jules Verne restaurant was decorated in black and was very much like a nightclub, but the world renowned chef Alain Ducasse took over in 2007, and with his designer Patrick Jouin, has transformed the place using a chocolate brown colour and amber lighting along with windows that do not reflect the light, so that the views outside is not spoilt. The fine food is gourmet style and traditional French cuisine, yet it surely is not easy for any chef to cook such fabulous contemporary French food when being so high up and unable to cook with gas within the Eiffel Tower, but somehow Ducasse manages this feat every time. To get to the Jules Verne restaurant you must show your reservation and then you are whisked up by private elevator to the dining room and you could be booking many months in advance if you want to have a table next to one of the windows, but in fact, the waiters try to keep out of the way as much as possible, so that you can enjoy the view. The table is yours for the night, but there are only 120 places available and there is always a waiting list, so you do need to plan well ahead and reserve your places, which has to be done by fax or telephone. As you can no doubt imagine, this is definitely not one of the cheapest places to eat out in Paris, but the views of the city are remarkable, especially during the evening when it becomes a very romantic setting with lights dimmed so as not to distract from the awe-inspiring view of Paris itself.
