Police said the teen’s 1983 Ford Mustang was traveling at 79 mph in the right lane of westbound Route 22 when it began to skid on the evening of May 9. The car skidded for more than 200 feet before it veered off the road, crossed an embankment and re-entered the roadway, where it landed on the roof and burst into flames.
The youth was thrown from the car and landed 50 feet west of it, police said. He suffered head injuries and a broken collarbone and was flown by helicopter to the Hershey Medical Center. At the time of the accident, state police said he was expected to recover.
Without his name, the Daily News is unable to check his condition.
