Attorney: Eddie Long’s Wife Proceeds With Divorce
The lawyer wife of Bishop Eddie Long says that she is moving forward with plans to end its 21-year marriage to a pastor embattled Georgia megachurch.

In a statement issued late Friday, a lawyer Vanessa Long says, "it found that the dismissal of her divorce petition is not appropriate at this time." Earlier Friday, she said in a statement released through the new birth of Eddie Long's Missionary Baptist Church, that she loves her husband and plans to withdraw its petition.

By divorce petition filed Thursday in court DeKalb Superior, a pair of "currently living in the bona fide state of separation." The split is more than a year after allegations that Eddie Long used his lavish lifestyle and the position of spiritual authority to lure four young men in sexual relationships. Eddie Long settled cases, but never admitted to any wrongdoing.
