NCAA Cross Country Championships 2009:

The 2009 NCAA Cross Country Championships took place recently and this year, the event was hosted by Indiana State University. And for those of you who are wondering who won, then we have all the results for you here.

Sam Chelanga, who is a Liberty University senior, won this year’s men’s 10,000 meter cross-country run event and was only 25 seconds ahead of second place, at 28:41.3. This was his first NCAA Cross Country National Championship.

The women’s event was a 6,000 meter cross-country run, and was won by Angela Bizarri of Illinois. With a time of 19:46.8, Bizarri managed to defeat University of Washington sophomore Kendra Schaff, who came in second.

And according to huliq.com, the NCAA Cross Country Championships 2009 men’s team event was won by Oklahoma State, with Oregon placing second and Alabama coming third. The women’s team event was won by Villanova.
